EDUKASI PEMANFAATAN MADU KELULUT SEBAGAI ANTIBAKTERI ALAMI DALAM MENDUKUNG PENCEGAHAN DIARE AKIBAT ESCHERICHIA COLI

Diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli infection remains one of the public health problems, while the use of stingless bee honey (kelulut honey) as a natural antibacterial agent is not yet widely known among the community of Teluk Kapuas Village. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge regarding diarrhea, Escherichia coli, diarrhea prevention, and the use of kelulut honey as a natural antibacterial agent. The activity was conducted through health education, discussions and question-and-answer sessions, as well as pre-test and post-test evaluations. A total of 40 participants attended the activity, which covered topics on diarrhea, Escherichia coli, diarrhea prevention, and the content and benefits of kelulut honey. The evaluation results showed an increase in the average percentage of correct answers from 22% in the pre-test to 95% in the post-test, representing an increase of 73%. The educational activity had a positive impact on participants’ knowledge and may support community understanding of the use of kelulut honey as a natural antibacterial agent in efforts to prevent diarrhea caused by Escherichia coli.
