Progressive Collapse Resistance of Precast Reinforced Concrete Frame of Industrial Building
This work evaluates the progressive collapse resistance of precast reinforced concrete frame of industrial building with the consequence class KS-3. Purpose: The aim of the work is to consider all possible scenarios of the removal of steelconcrete frame columns leading to a possible progressive collapse using the stress-strain state simulation in a three-dimensional model of the base–foundation–building system. Methodology: The stress-strain state of the steel-concrete frame is simulated in Ing+ 2021 MicroFe software package using the kinematic method of the limit equilibrium theory for building protection from progressive collapse. Research findings: It is found that at a given load combination, a failure of any frame column does not lead to an emergency situation, namely a progressive collapse of the building. Calculations show that if the load level of a specific load combination is exceeded by 47 % when a corner column is removed and by 44 % when a row column is removed, the steel-concrete frame of the building represents a kinematically variable mechanism, and its load-bearing capacity is exhausted.
