Home mold test plates against an outdoor control: four sampling methods, one house, 96 hours
Four open settle plates were placed in and around one South Louisiana house held under 50% RH (vent air, vent swab, indoor air, outdoors) and photographed at about 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours, 14 to 18 September 2026. Every plate grew mold. The outdoor plate grew the most at every reading after 48 hours. The swab grew far more than the air plate at the same vent. Without an outdoor plate run at the same time, a home test result has nothing to compare against. Limits: no sealed control plate, one house, visual counts only.
