SOSIALISASI SAMPAH DENGAN METODE TIGA R (REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE)

This community service activity was carried out on May 19, 2025, in Kampung Tua Teluk Mata Ikan, Sambau Village, Nongsa District, Batam City, with the aim of increasing public awareness and skills in waste management based on the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) method. The implementation methods included socialization, workshops on waste sorting and processing, the establishment of a waste bank, coastal clean-up actions, and the training of environmental cadres. The results showed a 62% increase in community understanding, the establishment of the “Teluk Hijau” Waste Bank, and the appointment of 10 environmental cadres as change agents. In addition, the coastal clean-up activity collected approximately 150 kg of plastic waste, part of which was reused through simple recycling practices. This activity demonstrates that a participatory approach can address low awareness and limited facilities while encouraging the realization of sustainable waste management in coastal communities
