Mycena piceicola A.H. Sm. new to Europe

Mycena piceicola A.H. Sm. is reported from Norway and Spain, for the first time in Europe. A description of both macro- and micromorphological characters is given based on European material, together with photographs of habitat, basidiomata, and micromorphological characters. ITS sequences of both Norwegian and Spanish collections are compared to a sequence from the holotype and other Mycena species, and a phylogenetic analysis is provided.
