Individuals and society bear significant responsibility for environmental preservation, as they are the primary agents capable of either protecting or harming the environment; unlike other beings, humans possess the physical and mental attributes that allow them to recognize the impact of their actions. These actions must be multifaceted, ranging from the conservation of water, air, and soil that is, all natural resources, whether renewable or non renewable to the management of their use and exploitation in the production of goods and services. While often essential for meeting human needs, these processes generate pollutants that can harm the environment; in this context, the focus is on household waste, currently classified as municipal solid waste. Accordingly, this study is conducted in the town of Úrsulo Galván using a mixed-methods, cross sectional approach. Through surveys and interviews, the research aims to determine the actions and opinions of local residents regarding the sustainable management of household waste.
