DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINED RELEASE MATRIX TABLETS OF DAPAGLIFLOZIN FOR TYPE 2 DIABETES
The objective of the present study was to formulate sustained-release matrix tablets of Dapagliflozin, for treatment of to manage type 2 diabetes. The matrix tablets were prepared by direct compression method using various synthetic polymers in various concentrations. The powder showed satisfactory flow properties and compressibility. All the formulations showed acceptable pharmacopoeia standards. The result of formulation F3. Successful formulation was found stable after evaluation for physicochemical parameters when kept for 90 days at 400C ±20C, 75% ± 5% RH for 3 months. It concluded that sustained release matrix tablets of Dapagliflozin containing Eudragit RS100 provide a better option for the Sustained release of the drug.
