Identifikasi Bahaya Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) pada Kegiatan Penangkapan Kerang Hijau Nelayan Tradisional di Wilayah Kamal Muara, Jakarta Utara Tahun 2026

Traditional fishermen who catch green mussels face various potential occupational hazards; however, systematic identification of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) hazards has never been conducted in the Kamal Muara area, North Jakarta. This study aimed to identify OHS hazards using the Hazard Identification approach (the identification stage within the HIRA framework) in green mussel catching activities among traditional fishermen in Kamal Muara in 2026. This was a descriptive study using a qualitative analytical approach. Data were collected through structured observations and in-depth interviews with nine informants selected using purposive sampling, consisting of key informants, main informants, and supporting informants. Data were analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validation conducted through source triangulation and method triangulation. The results showed 24 potential hazards across all work stages, namely preparation, travel, diving, returning, and unloading, which were classified into eight hazard categories: physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, psychosocial, mechanical, environmental, and physiological hazards. The diving stage had the highest number and greatest variety of hazards, including the potential for compressor failure during diving, leaking or kinked air hoses, and the absence of a compressor operator on the boat, making this stage the main priority for OHS attention. It is recommended that equipment inspections be conducted before going to sea, appropriate personal protective equipment be used, weather conditions be monitored, and OHS training be provided for traditional fishermen.
