This study aims to analyze the effects of financial technology (fintech) and financial literacy on the personal financial management of young people in Makassar City, with financial behavior serving as an intervening variable. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The research data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 107 young people aged 17–25 years who resided in Makassar City and had used financial technology services. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using validity tests, reliability tests, descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, path analysis, and the Sobel test, with the assistance of statistical software. The results indicate that financial technology and financial literacy have positive and significant effects on financial behavior. Financial technology, financial literacy, and financial behavior also have positive and significant effects on personal financial management. Financial behavior was found to partially mediate the effects of both financial technology and financial literacy on personal financial management. These findings indicate that the wise utilization of financial technology, supported by sound financial literacy, can foster healthy financial behavior and thereby promote better personal financial management among young people.
