Weak Signal Canvas: A One-Page Working Surface for the Weak Signal Cultivation Model
The Weak Signal Canvas is a printable, one-page working surface that lets a team follow one weak signal over six sessions without formulas. It translates the Weak Signal Cultivation Model (WSCM) into a format practitioners can use on day one. The front side carries six fields that mirror the steps of a 30 to 45 minute session: stories first, an entry check, individual scoring, the signal map, movement and next action. A session log records six sessions, about three months, of scores, so each sheet becomes the short biography of one signal. The back side explains the four zones, five rules, the anchor words of the 0 to 4 scale and a paper-only way to move the dot. The canvas follows the design logic of the Business Model Canvas: one subject per sheet, a shared visual centre and an open license (CC BY-SA 4.0). This position paper describes the design and its use. Field validation through pilots and a technology-focused paper are planned next.
