ANÁLISIS EXPERIMENTAL DE BLOQUES MULTIMATERIALES PARA VIVIENDAS EN GUERRERO

The accumulation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste has driven the search for sustainable alternatives for its use in construction. This study aimed to analyze the mechanical behavior of multimaterial blocks made with 600 mL PET bottles, compacted soil, Type I mortar, and hexagonal wire mesh. Two types of blocks were manufactured: Type A, using Coca-Cola bottles, and Type B, using Yoli bottles. Simple and diagonal compression tests were conducted at 14 and 28 days. Descriptive statistics and Student's t-test were applied to determine significant differences between the two types of blocks. At 28 days, Block A reached 21.5 kg/cm² in simple compression and 6.1 kg/cm² in diagonal compression, while Block B obtained 18.8 and 4.8 kg/cm², respectively. Although Block A exhibited higher average strengths, the differences were not statistically significant (p = .218 and p = .416). These results demonstrate the potential of PET utilization in sustainable housing
