EFEKTIVITAS KONSUMSI REBUSAN DAUN KELOR TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI ASI PADA IBU MENYUSUI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PULOSARI

Insufficient breast milk production is a primary barrier to the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Moringa leaves (*Moringa oleifera*) contain nutrients and bioactive compounds that may function as natural galactagogues. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of consuming a decoction of Moringa leaves on increasing breast milk production among nursing mothers in the working area of the Pulosari Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Pandeglang Regency. A quasi-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The study population consisted of 77 mothers nursing infants aged 0–6 months, with a sample of 51 respondents selected via purposive sampling. The intervention involved the daily consumption of a decoction made from 5 grams of fresh Moringa leaves in 250 mL of water for 14 days. Data were collected using a 10-item questionnaire on breast milk production and an observation sheet for breast milk volume. Analysis was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that all respondents were aged 20–35 years; the majority had completed high school (84.3%) and were primiparous (52.9%). Prior to the intervention, 90.2% of respondents reported insufficient breast milk production, whereas, following the intervention, 100% of respondents fell into the "sufficient" category. The mean breast milk volume increased from 46.05 mL to 69.28 mL, representing an increase of 23.23 mL. The Wilcoxon test indicated significant differences in both breast milk volume (Z = -6.215; p < 0.001) and breast milk production questionnaire scores (Z = -6.557; p < 0.001). Consuming a decoction of moringa leaves for 14 days is associated with a significant increase in breast milk production; therefore, it may be considered a non-pharmacological, food-based intervention using local resources within midwifery care for breastfeeding mothers.
