Analisis Faktor Risiko Hygiene Sanitasi dengan Jumlah Koloni Mikroba pada Peralatan Makan Pasien di RS Mata X Kota Semarang Tahun 2026

Background: Microbial contamination on eating utensils is a critical issue in food service delivery within healthcare facilities. Eating utensils used by patients come into direct contact with food, creating potential vectors for the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms if Hygiene and sanitation requirements are not met.. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between Hygiene and sanitation risk factors and the microbial colony count (APC/CFU) on patients' eating utensils at X Eye Hospital, Semarang City, in 2026. Methods: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design. Primary data were collected through laboratory testing of eating utensil swabs (Total Plate Count / TPC) and direct observation of Hygiene and sanitation practices. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate (Chi-Square) methods. Results: Bivariate analysis showed that none of the 10 independent variables examined (washing water quality, food handlers' personal Hygiene, washing techniques, sink condition, utensil storage, drying techniques, washing area environmental condition, PPE compliance, soap type, and utensil material characteristics) were significantly associated with the microbial colony count (p>0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the examined Hygiene and sanitation risk factors and the microbial colony count on patients' eating utensils at X Eye Hospital, Semarang City. The hospital is advised to maintain and continue enhancing its current Hygiene and sanitation standards.
