Kajian Implementasi Al-Qur'an pada Pemanfaatan Ruang Terbuka Masjid Raya Baitul Khairaat Kota Palu

This study examines the implementation of Qur'anic values in the utilization of the open space at Baitul Khairaat Grand Mosque, Palu City, an area with substantial open space potential that has not been optimally managed according to Islamic spatial principles. The research aims to describe the existing condition of the open space, analyze how Qur'anic values are implemented in its use, and formulate development recommendations based on the principle of maslahah (benefit). A qualitative descriptive approach combined with a normative approach to relevant Qur'anic verses was employed, using field observation, in-depth interviews, and time-based photographic documentation before and after Maghrib prayer as the primary data collection techniques. Data were analyzed thematically using Jan Gehl's framework of necessary, optional, and social activities. The findings show that the mosque's open space is divided into six sub-zones with a high degree of openness and functions as a quasi-urban park, exhibiting a dynamic pattern that shifts from individual recreational activity before Maghrib to collective worship and family-oriented activity afterward. This pattern reflects the dual dimension of imarah al-masjid (hissiyyah and ma'nawiyah) outlined in QS. At-Taubah: 18. A gap analysis further identifies opportunities to strengthen accessibility, Islamic landscape elements, educational-da'wah functions, and ecological sustainability.
