IMPROVING PANCASILA EDUCATION LEARNING OUTCOMES ON REGIONAL CHARACTERISTICS TOPIC THROUGH CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING MODEL USING VISUAL MEDIA

This study aims to improve learning outcomes in Pancasila Education on the subject of Regional Characteristics through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by visual media. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles in grade V of SD Islam Sultan Agung 4 Semarang with 20 students as subjects. The data collection instrument used learning achievement tests. The results showed a significant improvement. In the pre-cycle, classical completeness only reached 20% with an average score of 58.2. After implementing the CTL model with visual media (pictures) in Cycle I, classical completeness increased to 62.5% with an average of 69.45. In Cycle II, researchers optimized visual media using contextual videos, which resulted in an increase in classical completeness to 87.5% with an average of 82.05. In the final post-test evaluation, completeness reached 85% with an average of 85.5, meeting the established success indicator of 85%. In conclusion, the collaboration between a meaningful CTL approach and the use of environment-based video media successfully resolves the abstract nature of spatial geography material and significantly stimulates elementary student learning outcomes.
