Self-Assessment of Transition to Practice and Factors Influencing Transition Among New Graduate Pediatric Direct Patient Care Registered Nurses
New graduate pediatric direct care registered nurses (PDCRNs) may be at risk for unsuccessful transition to practice because of fewer pediatric educational experiences as students. In this cross-sectional observational study, perceptions of transition to practice among new graduate PDCRNs (N=50) were examined. Findings indicate that supporting PDCRNs in transition to practice after graduation may help increase successful transition to practice of new graduate acute care pediatric RNs.
