Beyond Classical Optical Limits: The Macro-Design Methodology for Next-Generation Photonic Quantum Chips
This research presents a macro-level architecture and design methodology for Photonic Quantum Integrated Circuits (PQICs), entitled the Photonic Quantum Chip Architectural Framework, which is developed to overcome the fundamental physical limitations of legacy optical systems, namely optical scattering, decoherence, and phase drift. The framework systematically divides the design process into four core stages: Stage 01 Topological & Quantum Field Formulation, Stage 02 Core Solver & Phase Realization, Stage 03 Circuit Topology & Quantum Gate Routing, and Stage 04 Benchmark Validation & System Mapping. Furthermore, to validate hardware robustness, this work incorporates an in-depth simulation testbench suite (eqx_photonic_quantum_core_tb.v) encompassing Fault Injection and High-Frequency Noise Injection testing. Simulation results confirm that the interlock system and automated mechanisms (Automated Assertions) can accurately detect field drops and execute safety responses within prescribed clock cycles, while exhibiting exceptional transient noise filtering capabilities (Noise Immunity). These findings demonstrate that the proposed architecture significantly enhances quantum gate fidelity, reduces decoherence rates, and enables scalable, high-efficiency room-temperature operations.
