GAMBARAN KESEHATAN MENTAL REMAJA INDONESIA BERDASARKAN MENTAL HEALTH CONTINUUM (MHC-SF)

Adolescent mental health is a national health development priority in Indonesia, yet empirical research remains predominantly focused on psychopathology rather than positive mental health. This study aims to delineate the mental health profile of Indonesian adolescents using the Mental Health Continuum framework operationalized via the Mental Health Continuum–Short Form (MHC-SF). This framework classifies mental health into three primary categories: languishing, moderate mental health, and flourishing, evaluated across emotional, social, and psychological well-being dimensions. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed involving 264 adolescents aged 13–18 years recruited through convenience sampling. The findings revealed that the majority of adolescents were in the moderate mental health category (66.67%), followed by flourishing (32.20%), while only a small fraction fell into languishing (1.14%). Comparative analyses demonstrated no statistically significant differences in mental health scores based on sex (p=0.392), age (p=0.766), or educational attainment (p=0.680).
