PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN SMART BOX HEXAGON PADA MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN MANUSIA DI KELAS V SD NEGERI CANDI 1 KOTA SEMARANG

Natural and social science instruction in elementary schools frequently relies on conventional lectures and static textbooks, leaving students passive and struggling to visualize abstract physiological concepts. This study aims to describe the characteristics, examine the theoretical feasibility, and analyze the practical usability of the Smart Box Hexagon learning media for the human digestive system topic in fifth-grade classes. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) framework utilizing the ADDIE instructional model, which comprises Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The trial subjects involved 24 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Candi 1, Semarang City. Data were collected through observation guidelines, interview protocols, expert validation sheets, and user response questionnaires, which were analyzed using descriptive percentage techniques. The Smart Box Hexagon was designed as a three-dimensional hexagonal container integrating six anatomical organ pockets, modular concept cards, interactive student worksheets, and quick response (QR) codes linked to instructional animations. Validation results yielded 84% from the material expert and 90% from the media expert, placing both in the highly feasible category. Practicality assessments demonstrated a student response score of 94.17% and a teacher response score of 94%, both classified as highly practical. These empirical findings confirm that the Smart Box Hexagon is technically feasible and highly practical as a supportive learning tool for human digestive system instruction in primary schools.

This study aims to describe the characteristics, examine the theoretical feasibility, and analyze the practical usability of the Smart Box Hexagon learning media for the human digestive system topic in fifth-grade classes.
