Road Building Climatic Zoning in the Republic of Tyva Based on Regional Geocomplex
The current scheme of the road building climatic zoning in the Russian Federation developed during the preparation to publication of 128-55 standards, does not account for natural and climatic conditions of several developing regions involved in the implementation of National Projects, such as "Infrastructure for Life." The complexity of combining heterogeneous indicators of geographical complex elements significantly impacts the reliability of roads operating in the Republic of Tyva that leads to excessive costs for restoring them to required performance levels. Purpose: The aim of the work is to enhance the reliability of roads in the Republic of Tyva by incorporating regional natural and climatic conditions into the road building climatic zoning based on the zone–subzone–road region taxonomic system. Methodology : Territorial differentiation of the Republic of Tyva based on a complex of natural and climatic indicators specific to the administrative territory. Research findings : For the first time in the Republic of Tyva, one road region in the road building climatic zone I, three road regions in the road building climatic zone II, and two road regions the road building climatic zone III, are identified in the zone–subzone–road region taxonomic system. Further they are differentiated into subzones based on terrain types.
