GAMBARAN KELUHAN SICK BUILDING SYNDROME (SBS) PADA PEKERJA PT. PLN (PERSERO) TAHUN 2026
Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is a collection of health complaints experienced by a person while inside a building, without any specific identifiable cause of illness. Office workers are one of the groups at risk of developing SBS because they spend most of their working hours in indoor environments. This study aimed to describe Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) complaints among workers at PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Bekasi in 2026. This study employed a quantitative descriptive design using a total sampling technique involving 42 workers as respondents. The research instrument was a questionnaire developed based on a synthesis of the literature from various sources regarding the symptoms of Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). Data were analyzed using univariate analysis to describe the frequency distribution of SBS complaints among the respondents. The results showed that 25 respondents (59.5%) experienced SBS complaints, while 17 respondents (40.5%) did not. The most frequently reported symptom was fatigue or lethargy (26.2%), followed by dry, itchy, or irritated skin and headache, each reported by 23.8% of the respondents. This study concludes that more than half of the workers experienced complaints indicative of SBS while working inside the building. The management of PT. PLN (Persero) UP3 Bekasi is recommended to assess environmental conditions throughout all work areas, with particular attention to air circulation, temperature, lighting, and cleanliness. Workers are also encouraged to make proper use of their break time and maintain their well-being while at work.
