Studies on the Balkan Lepidoptera III

New and interesting records of Balkan Lepidoptera are detailed. Aphelia stigmatana (Eversmann, 1844) is new for the Balkan fauna; for Holoterpna pruinosata (Staudinger, 1897) the third contemporary locality in Europe and the Balkan Peninsula is reported. The majority of the species are from the informal group “Macrolepidoptera”, but we include as well representatives of the informal group “Microlepidoptera”. Twelve genera and 27 species are new for Albania, and 45 species are reported for the second time for that country. For Montenegro, four genera and 15 species are reported for the first time. Two genera and four species are new for Serbia and 13 species are reported for the second time for Serbia. Two species are new to Bulgaria. Two genera and eight species are new for Bosnia and Herzegovina; many other species are reported for a second or third time for the country. One genus and two species are new for Greece. Two species are reported for a second time and five species are reported for a third time for North Macedonia. For many other species, second or third localities are reported for certain countries. For other species we report the highest or lowest altitude localities and southernmost/easternmost points of their range known so far. Data for some other interesting species from these countries are also presented, including new localities for species with poorly known distribution in the Balkan Peninsula and Balkan countries. Many data originate from previously unexplored areas in certain countries, from where we have a lack of information. Altogether, data for 353 species of Lepidoptera from more than 50 localities are presented here, and selected habitats, specimens, and their genitalia are illustrated in 350 figures.
