Zulfia Perfect Equilibrium (ZPE): Perfection Behind Imperfect Equilibrium
Classical economic theory is predicated on the ideal of perfection. It assumes the existenceof a fixed point xS0 , perfect foresight, and frictionless adjustment. This paper identifies andformalizes the ignorance of loss inherent in that idealization. We demonstrate five fundamental losses arising from assumed perfection:• Existence Loss, where the assumption that xS0 exists contradicts the reality that xS0 ∄,implying E = ∅;• Policy Loss, where models assuming forward-looking agents generate ineffective policiesfor hand-to-mouth behavior;• Survival Loss, where Nash, Walrasian, and Hall-Woodford equilibria collapse upon failureof a single assumption;• Fragility Loss, where perfect models exhibit fragility in imperfect environments; and• Literature-Delay Loss, representing the decades-long delay in micro-macro synthesisdue to adherence to perfect equilibrium. We establish the Zulfia ∆-Equilibrium Framework as a resolution. In ZPE, equilibriumdoes not necessitate xS0 . Even when xS0 ∄, survival persists as η ∈ ∆, where ∆(x)̸ = 0. Thus, perfection is preserved behind imperfect equilibrium, converting loss into survival.
