Being as cosmic processuality: Cognitive Psychiatry, a cosmogenetic theory of intelligibility and a critique of Heidegger’s ontology

Heidegger’s ontological difference between Being and beings raises a question that remains open: does the manifestation and intelligibility of beings require an autonomous ontological problem, or can both be understood as dimensions of cosmic processuality itself? This article aims to propose, from the standpoint of Cognitive Psychiatry, a cosmogenetic and processual conception of Being and to examine its consequences for a critical reading of Heideggerian ontology. It is a theoretical proposition essay supported by a narrative review of literature published between 2021 and 2026. Intelligibility is neither an exclusively mental property nor an ontological dimension separate from the cosmos; it derives from the historical, causal, temporal and evolutionary organization of reality. Entities are relatively stable coagulations of processes, and the human organism, including its central nervous system, is a configuration of the same processuality that produces them. Cognition is co-praxization, an active participation of the organism in the processes of the world that involves Gestalt perception, conativity, causality, temporality, action, significance and valuation. Being is therefore cosmic processuality in its constitutive, manifestative and intelligible unity, and human understanding of Being is a reflexive perspectivization of that processuality. Heidegger recognizes pre-reflexive understanding and the temporal constitution of existence, but grants philosophical autonomy to a dimension that can be read as reflexively isolated. The phenomenological priority of an understanding does not demonstrate its cosmogenetic priority. Implications for Psychiatry and ten central propositions are presented.
