Static-QR Indoor Wayfinding: A Low-Hardware Approach to Giving Visitors Directions Inside Large Buildings
Visitors to large buildings such as hospitals, malls, campuses, hotels and exhibition venues often cannot find their destination and interrupt staff to ask. This note describes Areyos, a wayfinding approach that avoids live indoor positioning. A QR code on a wall identifies a known location; scanning it opens a web page (no app) with ordered step-by-step directions to a destination the visitor chooses, and the visitor confirms each step. The note covers the problem, the design, its deliberate limitations, and a planned pilot evaluation. The system is a working prototype; no deployment results are reported and no claim about effectiveness is made. Not peer reviewed.
