Motivación y aprendizaje en estudiantes de secundaria

The motivation is a relevant element in learning because it is associated with students’ interest, attention, participation, and willingness to engage in school activities. This study aimed to analyze how motivation influences learning and knowledge construction among first-year students at Secondary School No. 2 “Alfonso Arroyo Flores,” and to identify strategies and resources that foster their interest. A qualitative case study was conducted. The study population consisted of 151 first-year students, from whom 18 were selected through convenience and quota sampling. Documentary research, observation, fieldwork, and interviews were used; the main instrument was a student interview. The analysis identified three categories: the influence of motivation on learning construction; motivational strategies; and the contribution of educational technologies. Findings show that students associate motivation with greater attention, understanding, participation, and persistence. They also identify games, examples, videos, and digital resources as supports that make classes more dynamic and interesting. The study contributes elements for reflecting on teaching practices that promote motivating learning environments.
