KARAKTERISTIK GAYA BAHASA PADA PUISI ROMANSA DAN PUISI RELIGIUS: KAJIAN STILISTIKA

Comparative stylistic studies across poetic genres in Indonesia remain scarce, as previous inquiries predominantly focused on descriptive analyses of single texts or individual authors. This study aims to analyze and compare the stylistic characteristics of five Indonesian romance poems and five religious poems across four analytical dimensions: diction, sentence structure and repetition, symbolic systems, and aesthetic functions. A descriptive qualitative design was employed utilizing documentary techniques and close reading across a corpus of ten poems officially published between 1970 and 2025. The findings reveal that both genres utilize comparable stylistic devices, particularly metaphor, personification, hyperbole, and repetition, yet channel them toward contrasting aesthetic poles. Romance poetry directs metaphors and repetitions horizontally toward interpersonal emotional domains using micro-scale natural symbols, whereas religious poetry channels them vertically toward transcendental communion through macro-scale cosmic imagery. Consequently, thematic divergence fundamentally transforms the aesthetic function of poetic discourse from personal emotional resonance into contemplative spiritual reflection. ABSTRAK Kajian stilistika komparatif lintas genre puisi di Indonesia masih terbatas karena penelitian sebelumnya cenderung berfokus pada analisis deskriptif satu teks atau pengarang tunggal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan karakteristik gaya bahasa pada lima puisi romansa dan lima puisi religius Indonesia berdasarkan empat dimensi stilistika, yaitu diksi, struktur kalimat dan repetisi, sistem simbol, serta fungsi estetika. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif diterapkan dengan teknik dokumentasi dan pembacaan close reading pada korpus sepuluh puisi yang diterbitkan secara resmi antara tahun 1970 hingga 2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua genre memanfaatkan perangkat stilistika yang setara, khususnya metafora, personifikasi, hiperbola, dan repetisi, namun diarahkan pada kutub estetika yang bertolak belakang. Puisi romansa mengarahkan metafora dan repetisi secara horizontal pada ranah afektif antarpribadi dengan simbol alam berskala mikro, sedangkan puisi religius mengarahkannya secara vertikal pada hubungan transendental dengan simbol kosmik berskala makro. Dengan demikian, perbedaan tema secara mendasar mentransformasikan fungsi estetika bahasa puitik dari luapan empati personal menjadi perenungan spiritual yang khusyuk.
