Platydialepis Haupt 1941

GenusPlatydialepisHaupt, 1941 Platydialepis Haupt, 1941: 56. Type species. Salius junctellus Cameron, 1902, by original designation. Diagnosis. Female: female is very similar to Priocnessus Banks, 1925 and Malloscelis Haupt, 1935, it clearly differs from all other genera of Priocnemini by clypeus large, wider than LID, distinctly convex in lateral view; apical margin of clypeus bisinuate (except for P. crinita, clypeus truncate). Female of Platydialepis differs from Priocnessus and Malloscelis by mandible with two inner teeth and clypeus not depressed lateroapically. Male: male differs from all other genera of tribe Priocnemini by having apical margin of clypeus weakly or indistinctly bisinuate; fore tarsal claws variable, with one tooth, and asymmetrical with inner and outer claws: inner tooth of outer claw longer, more curved, sharper apically than that of inner claw; inner tooth of inner claw broad, blunt apically (Bingham 1897; Shimizu and Wahis 2013). Other characters of importance. Female: body covered with pubescence, usually dense; vertex nearly straight between eyes in frontal view; eye width usually larger than half of MID; hind wing cu-a arising at or after divergence of M + CuA; all tarsal claws bearing one, two, or three inner teeth. Male: T 1 slender, gradually narrowed toward base; S 2 without transverse groove. Distribution. Brazil, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Sri Lanka. Biology. The biology of this genus has rarely been reported. Only Japanese researchers reported that P. ryoheii and P. amamiensis distributed in Japan preyed on spiders of the family Sparassidae (Nambu and Shimizu 1994; Shimizu and Wahis 2013). Key to Chinese species of the genus Platydialepis Haupt, 1941
