The Four-Force Cosmos: Thermodynamic Will and the Cost of Completeness in a Multi-Sector Vacuum
Paper 94 does not claim that the physical universe is conscious, that its constants are volitional, or that inflation and dark energy are acts of will. It shows, in one reproducible four-field lattice experiment with a self-consistent expansion, what volition looks like when a universe has more than one force to spend: an invariant telos the law does not encode, a law landscape that is a staircase rather than a gradient (so no descent finds it), a conserved law budget that makes every act a trade between forces, an exact deterministic edge (ε_c = u/6) and a predicted thermal edge (ΔV = T, predicted at 2.06, measured between 2.00 and 2.30), a critical duration below which the act rebounds, a permanent phase that survives the restoration of the law, and a price — 1.845 per site to hold, 0.0222 per site never refunded, against a thermal alternative costing 2.8 × 10¹³ times the radiation budget. Volition is a pulse of law that buys a state the law does not prefer.
