More rainy days at Science Garden station, Metro Manila, Philippines, 1961–2025

Abstract Daily rainfall at Science Garden, Quezon City, Philippines, was analysed for 1961–2025. By 2025, fitted trends indicated about 25 more wet days than in the early 1960s, including 13 more days with at least 20mm and six more with at least 50mm. These increases were significant, while the largest 1‐ and 5‐day totals showed no significant trends. The dry season became wetter with shorter dry spells, and wet‐season rainfall increased. These patterns extended beyond periods with nearby Tropical Cyclones. Overall, Science Garden became wetter mainly through more frequent rainfall and more substantial rainfall days, rather than larger extremes.
