Observed Lead-Free Radiation Exposure With the Rampart Guardian System During Endovascular Procedures
Physicians who perform fluoroscopy-guided endovascular procedures experience high occupational radiation exposure and musculoskeletal strain.1 Modern shielding systems eliminate lead aprons while mitigating these work-related hazards. The efficacy of the Rampart Defender mobile floor radiation protection system in reducing radiation exposure to endovascular operators has been demonstrated in observational and randomized controlled trials,2,3 but the real-world efficacy of the novel ceiling-mounted Rampart Guardian system remains to be described.
