Adhesion without identification: a gait shape descriptor that follows a person without distinguishing them
This archive contains a preprint, its appendix, four figures, and five audit scripts. The paper askswhat a gait shape descriptor measures once it has passed the preconditions checked in a companionnote (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23855691). It separates the part of the number that follows the task and thebody from the part that follows the person, and shows that adhesion and identification are differentproperties: a descriptor can follow a person across conditions and still be useless for telling peopleapart. Three claims made during the analysis were withdrawn after audit and are reported as withdrawn. The five audit scripts re-derive the published numbers from per-subject artefacts; those artefacts arederived from third-party data and are not redistributed, so on a machine without them the scripts skiprather than pass.
