Penerapan Rocket Stove untuk Mendukung Pengelolaan Lingkungan Yang Berkelanjutan di Desa Kalimati, Sidoarjo

Household waste management remains one of the challenges in realizing a clean and sustainable environment, particularly in rural areas. The inefficient use of biomass waste and the continued practice of open waste burning are two problems found in Kalimati Village, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency. Through the implementation of the Rocket Stove—an appropriate technology that utilizes biomass such as twigs and dry wood as an alternative fuel source—this community service project seeks to promote sustainable environmental management. The implementation process includes field observation, collaboration with village officials, communication regarding environmental management, construction of the Rocket Stove, demonstration of its use, and evaluation of activities. The results of the activity show that the community responded positively to the implementation of the effective Rocket Stove. In addition to raising community awareness regarding biomass utilization, this technology also serves as an environmentally friendly and more effective alternative compared to open waste burning practices. Thus, the implementation of the Rocket Stove is expected to support sustainable environmental management through the utilization of appropriate technology and increased community participation.

The inefficient use of biomass waste and the continued practice of open waste burning are two problems found in Kalimati Village, Tarik District, Sidoarjo Regency.
