Bimbingan Kelompok Teknik Sosiodrama untuk Meningkatkan Regulasi Emosi Siswa SMP
Emotion regulation among junior high school students remains suboptimal, while school guidance and counseling services tend to be informative and curative. This study reviews the literature on early adolescents' emotion regulation and the effectiveness of sociodrama-based group guidance, and formulates directions for research and practice based on the gaps identified. A literature review with a systematic approach following PRISMA 2020 was conducted on national and international articles published from 2015 to 2026, complemented by preliminary data from SMP Negeri 2 Babelan, Bekasi Regency. The review yields three findings. First, emotion regulation problems among Indonesian adolescents are widespread: 34.9% of adolescents aged 10–17 experience mental health problems, and at the target school 56.86% of students reported difficulty controlling emotions and 87.5% of 367 students fell into the moderate and low categories. Second, studies of sociodrama and role-play group guidance consistently report gains in emotion regulation, but rely on small samples (8–16 students) and designs without control groups. Third, four research gaps emerge: empirical, conceptual, contextual, and analytical. The review proposes sociodrama designed on Gross's process model, tested in a peri-urban school, and analyzed by gender and baseline emotion regulation level.
