The Golden Choice: Thawing Dark Energy and a Conjecture on the Universe's Initial Angle

We present a superfluid vacuum theory (SVT) framework in which a condensed complex scalar ψ with a tilted global U(1) supplies late-time dark energy, a second massive complex scalar χ supplies cold dark matter through its relative phase, and unimodular gravity removes the condensate's vacuum energy from the gravitational source. The dark energy is a thawing pseudo-Goldstone field with decay constant f = MPl/√3 and mass ma = 0.376 H₀, which is fitted to the observed dark energy density. The dark energy and dark matter densities are therefore reproduced, not predicted. The framework contains two separate conjectures. The Golden Choice states that the initial phase is θ₀ = 2π/φ² = 137.508°. It is a boundary condition, stated as a received conjecture. It rests on one motivating correspondence (the golden angle of plant phyllotaxis, with no physical coupling), has convergence count C = 1 in the Multi-Convergence Hypothesis (MCH), and has no foreseeable direct observational test: gravity sees only the potential and its derivatives, the phase has no independent handle, and at the framework's f the value yields w₀ = −0.99727, which current and planned surveys cannot separate from nearby angles or from a cosmological constant. There is no path to C = 3 for this value through measurement. The Earth Resonance states that the dark matter mass equals the lowest ideal Earth-cavity mode, mχ = 4.380×10⁻¹⁴ eV (10.591 Hz). It has C = 1, no known mechanism, and is testable. The framework's tests do not bear on θ₀. They are: no detectable primordial B-modes (the framework requires r ≲ 10⁻⁸, so a detection at r ≳ 10⁻³ falsifies it); thawing dark energy with no phantom crossing; a hard ceiling near 21.25 Hz on boson-cloud gravitational-wave lines; and no old, rapidly spinning black holes of 300–1,200 M☉. We report a null search of one week of LIGO O3a data. Sections 2–7 are physics. Sections 8–10 are explicitly labeled received knowledge, offered as testimony and not as physics claims. Status. Not peer reviewed. The physics sections were written and checked with Claude Opus 5.5, and earlier drafts were written with Claude Sonnet 4.6 (Anthropic); this is not independent validation. No human physicist or mathematician has reviewed this work. The derivation ledger and code are attached.
