Food self-sufficiency is a strategic national agenda closely related to food security, national selfreliance, and agricultural development.The growing intensity of media coverage of food selfsufficiency policies and programs highlights the role of the media in shaping public understanding of the direction and implementation of food policies.This study aims to analyze the framing of food self-sufficiency coverage on Kompas.comacross two strategic periods during the first year of President Prabowo Subianto's administration: the initial 100 days of government and the 100 days of the food self-sufficiency program.The study employed a qualitative approach using Entman's framing analysis model, which consists of four elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgment, and treatment recommendation.The data consisted of 70 Kompas.comnews articles selected using stratified proportional sampling across five topics: government policy, agricultural production, food prices, agricultural infrastructure, and agricultural institutions.Reader comments (288 comments) were also analyzed as supporting data to examine public responses.The findings show that Kompas.comtends to frame food self-sufficiency as a strategic national agenda oriented toward the success of government policies, positioning the government as the primary actor.In the early period, the framing was optimistic and emphasized the legitimacy of the government's agenda, whereas the subsequent period placed greater emphasis on policy implementation and evaluation.In line with this shift, reader comments evolved from early optimism and high expectations regarding agricultural production into critical evaluations of policy effectiveness, food price stability, and implementation outcomes in the second period.
