Active Companion Animal Adoption Listing Inventory Across U.S. Regional Hubs: Methodological Technical Note & Endpoint Guide (2026)
This methodological technical note documents the regional endpoint structure and measurement boundaries of the Adopt’Animaux U.S. Public Companion Animal Adoption Listing Inventory. All linked series measure active, location-ready companion animal adoption listings published by municipal shelters and 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue organizations; they do not measure gross shelter intake, live-release outcomes, euthanasia counts, or DNA-verified breed ancestry. Canonical machine-readable CSV tables and live empirical dashboards are maintained directly on Adopt’Animaux U.S. Shelter & Rescue Listing Data, supported by the Public Adoption Inventory Methodology, the U.S. Source-Label & Vertebrate Breed Ontology (VBO) Reference Report, and the United States Shelter & Rescue Adoption Directory (adoptanimaux.com/en). State-Level Active Listing Snapshots: California, Texas, Florida, New York, and North Carolina. Species-Specific Public Listing Portals: Adoptable Dogs in the U.S., Adoptable Cats in the U.S., Partner Shelters & Rescue Organizations, and Fee-Waived Dog Adoption Programs.
