Response to Mukhamad Zulianto´s critical response

This letter responds to Zulianto’s critical commentary on the proposed model for integrating spirituality and religion into generalist social work when working with bereaved individuals. The present text primarily reflects on the question of the limitations of the concept of the individual in a situation – or rather, the configuration of the individual in a situation – and proposes the possibility of using the concept of social work as a tool that can serve to broaden perspectives on the integration of spirituality and religion-related topics into the context of social work.

Abstract

This letter responds to Zulianto’s critical commentary on the proposed model for integrating spirituality and religion into generalist social work when working with bereaved individuals. The present text primarily reflects on the question of the limitations of the concept of the individual in a situation – or rather, the configuration of the individual in a situation – and proposes the possibility of using the concept of social work as a tool that can serve to broaden perspectives on the integration of spirituality and religion-related topics into the context of social work.
