Modeling Analysis fot the Prevention of Overweight and Obesity Among Adolescents at State Senior High School 3 Banda Aceh
Overweight and obesity in adolescents are significant health problems that require special attention to prevent long-term health impacts. This study aims to analyze risk factor modeling for the prevention of overweight and obesity in adolescents at Senior High School 3 Banda Aceh. This quantitative study involved 95 adolescent respondents. Data were collected for variables of eating habits, sleep patterns, physical activity, screen time, and genetic factors. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test for bivariate analysis and logistic regression to determine the most dominant factors (multivariate analysis). Bivariate analysis showed that eating habits (p = 0.000), sleep patterns (p = 0.001), screen time (p = 0.002), and genetic factors (p = 0.000) were significantly related. In contrast, physical activity showed no significant association (p = 0.695). The results of the Logistic Regression test showed that sleep patterns (p = 0.001) and genetic factors (p = 0.000) were the most influential factors on the incidence of overweight and obesity in adolescents. The final model that was formed showed that the variable was able to explain 45.4%, while 54.6% was influenced by other factors that were not studied in this study. Sleep patterns and genetic factors are the main determinants of the incidence of overweight and obesity among students of Senior High School 3 Banda Aceh. Interventions that focus on improving sleep patterns and sustainable nutrition education are needed to reduce obesity rates in adolescents.
