Local Multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Multi-Strategy LLM Prompt Benchmarking with Alignment Verification, and Real-Time Ocular Microsleep Detection

Deploying generative artificial intelligence and deep computer vision architectures into production environments requires overcoming strict hardware memory ceilings, cloud API rate throttling, structural output hallucinations, and real-time latency bounds. This paper presents a unified empirical study of three production-grade artificial intelligence systems engineered specifically for resource-constrained execution across local workstations, cloud-hybrid inference pipelines, and edge vision monitors: (1) A privacy-first, local multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture utilizing 384-dimensional sentence transformers dense embeddings indexed inside an embedded sqlite-vec engine, a dual-layer visual inference router failing over automatically from cloud Qwen 27B (via the Featherless API) to a locally hosted Moondream vision-language model, and a memory-bounded local phi3 inference engine via Ollama constrained to a strict 4,096-token context ceiling to guarantee a 0% out-of-memory (OOM) crash rate; (2) An end-to-end Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation, post-training alignment via Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), and feedback intelligence framework benchmarking Aspect-Based, Few-Shot, and Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting strategies to achieve 99.5% classification accuracy and a 90% reduction in end-to-end processing latency, sustained by a stateful Dynamic API Key Rotation middleware that bypasses the 15 Requests-Per-Minute (15 RPM) free-tier Google Gemini API rate ceiling, alongside deterministic JSON tool-calling schema verification and multimodal reasoning fine-tuning on VEO-3 and Gemini; and (3) A real-time computer vision safety and industrial inspection suite comprising a hybrid ResNet-50 and dlib Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR) ensemble for driver microsleep detection (achieving 92% classification accuracy, 35% fewer false positive alerts, and strictly < 100 ms per-frame inference latency across 10,000+ video frames) paired with an OpenCV and TensorFlow-Keras Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) predictive maintenance pipeline for micro-tool wear classification across 5,000+ augmented images (expanded 100× from 50+ base microscopy images) and 100+ milling intervals using 3 extracted morphological wear descriptors (achieving 75% multi-class classification accuracy).

Abstract

Deploying generative artificial intelligence and deep computer vision architectures into production environments requires overcoming strict hardware memory ceilings, cloud API rate throttling, structural output hallucinations, and real-time latency bounds. This paper presents a unified empirical study of three production-grade artificial intelligence systems engineered specifically for resource-constrained execution across local workstations, cloud-hybrid inference pipelines, and edge vision monitors: (1) A privacy-first, local multimodal Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture utilizing 384-dimensional sentence transformers dense embeddings indexed inside an embedded sqlite-vec engine, a dual-layer visual inference router failing over automatically from cloud Qwen 27B (via the Featherless API) to a locally hosted Moondream vision-language model, and a memory-bounded local phi3 inference engine via Ollama constrained to a strict 4,096-token context ceiling to guarantee a 0% out-of-memory (OOM) crash rate; (2) An end-to-end Large Language Model (LLM) evaluation, post-training alignment via Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), and feedback intelligence framework benchmarking Aspect-Based, Few-Shot, and Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting strategies to achieve 99.5% classification accuracy and a 90% reduction in end-to-end processing latency, sustained by a stateful Dynamic API Key Rotation middleware that bypasses the 15 Requests-Per-Minute (15 RPM) free-tier Google Gemini API rate ceiling, alongside deterministic JSON tool-calling schema verification and multimodal reasoning fine-tuning on VEO-3 and Gemini; and (3) A real-time computer vision safety and industrial inspection suite comprising a hybrid ResNet-50 and dlib Eye Aspect Ratio (EAR) ensemble for driver microsleep detection (achieving 92% classification accuracy, 35% fewer false positive alerts, and strictly < 100 ms per-frame inference latency across 10,000+ video frames) paired with an OpenCV and TensorFlow-Keras Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) predictive maintenance pipeline for micro-tool wear classification across 5,000+ augmented images (expanded 100× from 50+ base microscopy images) and 100+ milling intervals using 3 extracted morphological wear descriptors (achieving 75% multi-class classification accuracy).
