Educación religiosa como clave de lectura de la realidad
Religious Education is conceived as a form of academic knowledge that enables a critical interpretation of reality. In this sense, this article explores the pedagogical possibilities that lead teachers and students to understand the socio-religious dynamics that take shape in their contexts; which is why, from critical, pluralistic, and dialogical perspectives, the article presents scenarios in which—through problematization—religious education fosters students’ recognition of their own constructions of the religious and, building on these, how they establish dialogues with other traditions, beliefs, and ways of relating to the sacred. Within this framework, the following are proposed as avenues for critical analysis: phenomena associated with religion, the relationship between religion and the public and private spheres, and contemporary socio-religious issues. These enable an analysis of how religion intersects with political, cultural, and social dimensions, as well as an examination of its impact on conflicts, discourses, and processes of citizenship-building. In conclusion, Religious Education is presented as a form of critical mediation that fosters the development of individuals capable of interpreting religious phenomena, questioning hegemonic narratives, and constructing well-founded positions in the face of the diversity and complexity of reality.
