The personal characteristics of first-year university students as a factor in effective social adaptation at the university

In modern conditions of radical and rapid changes in all spheres of society, the ability of the individual to quickly and qualitatively adapt to changing conditions of the social and professional environment becomes especially im-portant. In this regard, higher education today faces a serious task of training specialists who can show mobility and quickly adapt to the changing working environment and new tasks, which will make them more competitive in their future profession. The need to optimize the social adaptation of students requires understanding and competent consideration in the educational process of psychological factors affecting their adaptation. At the same time, it should be noted that in psychological science there is still a discussion question about the degree of influence on the social adaptation of the personal characteristics of students and interpersonal relationships in the student group. Thus, the relevance of this study is due to the contradiction between the need for effective social adaptation of first-year students of higher educational institutions and the lack of certainty of the most important psychological factors and the development of measures that contribute to the achievement of this
