Problematika Generative AI Dalam Memahami Al-Qur’an Dan Hadis: Perspektif Etika Menuntut Ilmu
Abstract : This study aims to analyze the challenges of using Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) to understand the Qur’an and Hadith among undergraduate Islamic Education (PAI) students, their practices of information verification and academic integrity, and the application of Islamic ethics of seeking knowledge. This qualitative study employed a case study design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire comprising open-ended and closed-ended questions administered to 13 informants and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Generative AI helps students understand learning materials and access information efficiently. However, its use presents risks, including inaccurate information, unclear sources, and reduced learning independence. Students reported verifying AI-generated information through Qur’anic commentaries, Hadith collections, scholarly literature, and consultations with lecturers or teachers, although verification practices varied. Ethical AI use requires honesty, trustworthiness, diligence, discipline, and responsibility to ensure that technology remains a learning aid rather than a substitute for independent thinking and engagement with authoritative Islamic sources.
