Penguatan Literasi Keagamaan Digital melalui Pendidikan Agama Islam Berbasis Komunitas di Kampung Emas Guwosari, Bantul

The rapid growth of digital media has increased public access to religious information through social networking platforms, yet many community members still lack adequate skills to verify the credibility of such information. This community service program aimed to strengthen digital religious literacy through community-based Islamic education in Kampung Emas Iroyudan, Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul. The program involved local residents, mosque administrators, religious study groups, community leaders, and university student facilitators. A participatory community-based service learning approach was employed through four stages: program socialization, digital religious literacy training, development of a community-based Islamic education module, and field mentoring and evaluation. The training emphasized information verification, identification of credible religious sources, ethical communication in digital media, and the practice of tabayyun. The results showed significant improvements in participants’ understanding of information verification, recognition of credible religious sources, ethical dissemination of information, and basic fact-checking skills. Field mentoring also revealed behavioral changes, including increased caution before sharing religious content and more critical and respectful discussions in community WhatsApp groups. These findings indicate that community-based Islamic education is an effective strategy for fostering critical, moderate, and responsible digital religious practices and for strengthening community resilience against unverified digital information.
