The article, based on archival documents, the press of that time, and scientific research, highlights the role and lessons of this period as a complex process. The results show that, although the transition to the Latin alphabet was an important factor in the spiritual renewal of the people, it also created difficulties for the process of preserving historical memory and national identity.
