Dynamic and personalized pricing; Restrictions and bans on the development of ultra-powerful AI systems; Signs of money laundering in online games

The September issue of the monitoring examines three current areas of international regulation of the digital economy: algorithmic pricing, restrictions on the development of ultra-powerful artificial intelligence systems, and combating money laundering in online games. The first area is dynamic and personalized pricing. It analyzes the results of studies on pricing algorithms, their impact on the cost of goods and services, and approaches taken by other countries to regulate personalized pricing. Particular attention is paid to algorithm transparency, protecting consumers from price discrimination, and pricing practices in the aviation industry. The second area is the regulation of super-powerful artificial intelligence systems. The paper examines the risks of autonomous operation by AI agents, the possibility of them slipping out of human control, and legislative initiatives in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia aimed at restricting the development of potentially dangerous AI systems and ensuring mechanisms for their shutdown. The third area is combating money laundering in online gaming. The report presents the results of a FATF study on the risks of using gambling and video games for illicit financial transactions, including 123 indicators of suspicious activity. The report examines international approaches to licensing gambling platforms, monitoring payments, and combating illegal online operators, as well as the scale of the illegal gambling market in Russia
