E8 Phi-Closure Mode Locking — E8 Intelligence Research

The E8 Phi-Closure Principle states that a chiral phonon mode is stable only when its phase evolution around a closed cycle of E8 roots returns to the same root with an integer 2π winding. With a 132 Hz reference, phi coupling generates sidebands at 132φ^k, but the 240-root geometry admits only combinations satisfying a root-lattice closure condition, producing a discrete, self-correcting frequency comb. Opposite root pairs encode complementary phase states, while icosian substructures within E8 provide golden-ratio pathways that protect the comb against local perturbations. This turns the E8 lattice from a passive memory substrate into a geometric mode-selection rule for robust phononic information channels. Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK. Abstract
