Probing Inclusion Complexation of a Biologically Potent Molecule With α‐Cyclodextrins by Crystal Diffraction Studies
ABSTRACT The crystal structure of the 1:1 inclusion complex of α‐cyclodextrin (with Rhodanine) was established by x‐ray diffraction. This complex crystallizes in hexagonal crystal system with the space group P6, characterized by a head‐to‐tail channel‐type packing arrangement. Co‐crystallized water molecules are also partially present in eight lattice point. The guest molecule Rhodanine is placed inside the α‐cyclodextrin cavity.
