The Base-3 Substrate: Open-Source Balanced Ternary State Governance and Deterministic Property Inheritance Across Base-3 Territory (B3T) and Sovereign Cognitive Infrastructure
This white paper establishes the architectural specifications and mathematical mechanics of the Base-3 Substrate, an open-source (GNU AGPLv3) Balanced Ternary (+1, 0, -1) deterministic computing layer engineered by VR Konstrukt Pty Ltd (ACN 696 473 935). Rather than relying on Boolean binary logic (1 = Allow, 0 = Block) or probabilistic cloud heuristics that leave an 8 percent epistemic gray zone, the Base-3 Substrate enforces the Multiplicative Triadic Law (T = A x E x I x Phi) across Agency (A), Epistemic State (E), and Intent/Structure (I). Because this foundational law is multiplicative rather than additive, if any single structural pillar drops to zero, the entire state collapses deterministically without guesswork. A core thesis of this paper is Architectural Property Inheritance: the foundational substrate dictates the physics of every vertical product built on top of it. Consequently, all proprietary commercial verticals engineered on the Base-3 Substrate automatically inherit five foundational properties:1. Sub-millisecond mathematical determinism (+1 Chartered Execution, 0 Epistemic Quarantine/Drift Hold, -1 Block & Revoke).2. 100 percent local, autonomous zero-cloud sovereignty suitable for air-gapped and contested environments.3. Near-zero compute overhead without continuous cloud telemetry ingestion.4. Continuous FIPS 180-4 SHA-256 Merkle chain cryptographic auditability.5. Hardware-pinned CAPEX appliance and B2B OEM licensing economics. We demonstrate this substrate inheritance through two detailed vertical case studies demonstrating that structural drift and cybersecurity exploits are mathematically identical at the substrate level (both representing unprofiled state transitions): Case Study 1: Base-3 Territory (B3T) Suite (CERN Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.23633915). A suite of standalone, local deterministic defense appliances across B3T Mobile (Android), B3T Windows, and B3T Territory Defender (3D fractal infrastructure topology). B3T operates orthogonally underneath mature legacy Identity and Access Management (IAM) stacks to govern the physical device and machine territory itself, neutralizing zero-day Remote Code Execution (RCE), Living-off-the-Land (LotL) drift, and DLL side-loading locally before execution. Case Study 2: Sovereign Cognitive Infrastructure (CMS Category Substrate). Whole-of-life deterministic state memory, bottleneck isolation, and structural drift governance for built environments, critical infrastructure, aviation turnarounds, and sovereign logistics workflows. Open-Source & Commercial Licensing Boundary:The foundational Base-3 Substrate math and core state solver are open-sourced under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPLv3) on GitHub (https://github.com/vrkonstrukt). All vertical applications, including the Base-3 Territory Suite and Sovereign Cognitive Infrastructure, are 100 percent proprietary commercial products licensed exclusively as CAPEX appliances and B2B OEM engines by VR Konstrukt Pty Ltd.
