Efektivitas Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok Teknik Homeroom dalam Meningkatkan Komunikasi Interpersonal Siswa di SMAN 1 Sidayu

Interpersonal communication is an essential skill for students to build social relationships and interact effectively in the school environment. However, some eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Sidayu demonstrate low levels of interpersonal communication skills. This study aims to examine changes in students’ interpersonal communication skills following group guidance services using the homeroom technique. The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants were eight students selected through purposive sampling based on their low interpersonal communication scores. Data were collected using an interpersonal communication questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The results showed that all participants experienced an increase in interpersonal communication scores, with a significance value of 0.012 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between scores before and after the intervention. These findings suggest that group guidance services using the homeroom technique may help improve students’ interpersonal communication skills. However, the small sample size and the absence of a control group require the findings to be interpreted cautiously.
